William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, poet and actor whose work still fills stages and classrooms around the world. Plays such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, King Lear, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest have been performed in nearly every form imaginable. Radio was no exception, and the golden age of broadcasting brought his drama into living rooms with nothing but voices, music and sound. In Radio Days you can hear the Columbia Workshop's Hamlet and an Othello presented on Suspense, along with several other adaptations of his plays.
