Play Broadway Is My Beat on Radio Days

"The gaudiest, the most violent, the lonesomest mile in the world." That was Broadway, and Detective Danny Clover walked it on CBS from February 27, 1949, to August 1, 1954. Anthony Ross played him in New York; when the show moved to Hollywood that July, Larry Thor took over. Elliott Lewis produced and directed scripts by Morton Fine and David Friedkin, and "I'll Take Manhattan" was the theme. Clover often closed a case with a melancholy, poetic word on the city.
