Play Cavalcade of America on Radio Days
The Cavalcade of America dramatized American history from October 9, 1935, to March 31, 1953, in 781 episodes. DuPont sponsored it under its motto, better things for better living through chemistry, partly to mend a reputation hurt by 1930s Senate hearings into World War I munitions profits. Yale historian Frank Monaghan advised on accuracy. Its writers included Arthur Miller, Maxwell Anderson, Stephen Vincent Benet and Carl Sandburg, and stars from Hollywood and Broadway took the leads. It moved to television in 1952.
