Play Flash Gordon on Radio Days
Alex Raymond's Flash Gordon first appeared as a Sunday strip on January 7, 1934. In 1935 Hearst's Sunday supplement, The Comic Weekly, put it on the radio as a 26-week serial that followed the Sunday page week by week: Flash, Dale Arden and Dr. Zarkov on the planet Mongo, up against Ming the Merciless, the Hawkmen and Queen Azura. Gale Gordon played Flash, Maurice Franklin Zarkov and Bruno Wick Ming, and Himan Brown produced. In the last two chapters the three crash back to Earth and meet Jungle Jim, who took over the time slot the next week.
