Frank King's comic strip Gasoline Alley began in 1918, and radio versions came and went from 1931 to 1949. These fifteen-minute shows are from the 1948-49 series made at WOR in New York and syndicated, with Skeezix and his pal Wilmer in a new scrape each week. Bill Lipton, Mason Adams and Robert Dryden are in the cast, and the Polka Dots harmonica trio plays the bridges. Auto-Lite was the sponsor, with its commercials added by each station.
