Jubilee
146 episodes · 1942–1949 · Armed Forces Radio Service, Armed Forces Radio · Variety & Music

Armed Forces Radio made Jubilee from 1942 to 1953 for Black servicemen overseas, with Black musicians and comedians before live audiences in Los Angeles. Ernie "Bubbles" Whitman hosted. The War Department let artists record for it during the union recording bans, so many of these performances exist nowhere else. RadioGOLDINdex dates each show by its recording or release; it went out on disc, not on a set broadcast date.
