Play Little Orphan Annie on Radio Days

Harold Gray's comic-strip orphan came to radio on WGN in Chicago in 1930 and went to the NBC Blue Network on April 6, 1931, lasting until 1942. Shirley Bell played Annie, with Allan Baruck as her pal Joe Corntassel, and Pierre Andre announced. Ovaltine sponsored it until 1940; listeners sent in proofs of purchase for the secret decoder badges that decoded a message at the end of the show.
