Play Straight Arrow on Radio Days
Rancher Steve Adams was a Comanche orphan raised by a ranching family, and when danger came he rode out as Straight Arrow. Only his partner, Packy McCloud, knew the secret. Howard Culver played him on Mutual from 1948 to 1951, 292 episodes written by Sheldon Stark and sponsored by Nabisco Shredded Wheat. Variety noted that the show tried to show the positive role of Native Americans in building the West.
