The Air Adventures of Jimmie Allen was a fifteen-minute flying serial created by Robert M. Burtt and Wilfred G. Moore, two World War I flying aces from Kansas City. Russell C. Comer syndicated it on transcription discs, and it ran from 1933 to 1937, with Skelly Oil as the sponsor through most of the 1930s and its Jimmie Allen Flying Club sending listeners wings, emblems and letters from Jimmie. Young Jimmie learns to fly with his friend and mentor Speed Robertson, and the two chase smugglers, spies and air pirates from China to Texas. Paramount turned it into the 1936 film The Sky Parade. A new version recorded in 1946 and 1947 reused many of the old stories with a new cast and post-war airplanes.
