Play The Bickersons on Radio Days
John and Blanche Bickerson spent nearly all their time together in an all-out verbal war over money, jealousy and everything else. Philip Rapp created them, and Don Ameche and Frances Langford first played them in 1946 on NBC's Drene Time, a variety show with Danny Thomas. The Bickersons moved on to The Old Gold Show and the Chase and Sanborn hour, and in the summer of 1951 CBS gave them their own half hour, with Lew Parker as John. They helped pave the way for The Honeymooners.
