Bob Hope's Pepsodent Show premiered on NBC on Tuesday, September 27, 1938, and Pepsodent stayed with him until June 8, 1948. Jerry Colonna, Frances Langford and Barbara Jo Allen as Vera Vague were part of the gang, with a big staff of writers behind the jokes. During the war he took the show to military bases, and it was radio's top-rated program two seasons running. His radio show went on with other sponsors until April 21, 1955.
