Sydney Greenstreet played Rex Stout's great detective on NBC from October 20, 1950, to April 27, 1951, 26 shows. Six actors took turns as his legman Archie Goodwin, among them Gerald Mohr, Harry Bartell and Lawrence Dobkin. Edwin Fadiman produced, J. Donald Wilson directed, and Alfred Bester was among the writers. The stories were new ones built on Stout's characters, and Stout liked Greenstreet's Wolfe.
