Play The Red Skelton Show on Radio Days

Red Skelton's radio show began October 7, 1941, as The Raleigh Cigarette Program on NBC, with Ozzie Nelson's band and Harriet Hilliard. That first season brought out his gallery of characters: Clem Kadiddlehopper, Junior the Mean Widdle Kid ("I dood it!"), Willie Lump-Lump, Deadeye, San Fernando Red and Bolivar Shagnasty. The catchphrase was so famous that when Jimmy Doolittle bombed Tokyo in 1942, headlines read "Doolittle Dood It." Skelton went into the Army in 1944 and came back to radio on December 4, 1945.
