Play The Screen Guild Theater on Radio Days
Hollywood's biggest stars worked for nothing on The Screen Guild Theater: their fees went to the Motion Picture Relief Fund, and over the years the show raised more than $5 million for the Motion Picture Country Home. It ran from January 8, 1939, to June 29, 1952, 527 episodes, mostly half-hour versions of popular films. Gulf Oil, Lady Esther cosmetics and Camel cigarettes sponsored it, on CBS, NBC and ABC.
