Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) was an English writer whose output ran to nearly 50 books, from satirical and serious novels to essays, travel writing, poems and screenplays. Brave New World, his first dystopian novel, is the book most readers know him by. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature nine times, and the Royal Society of Literature named him a Companion of Literature in 1962. Radio drama turned to his work as well, with The CBS Radio Workshop presenting Brave New World and NBC University Theater adapting his 1939 novel After Many a Summer Dies the Swan.
