F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) was an American novelist, essayist and short story writer who helped popularize the term Jazz Age, a phrase he used in the title of his collection Tales of the Jazz Age. His first novel, This Side of Paradise, came out in 1920, followed by The Great Gatsby in 1925 and Tender Is the Night in 1934. He was still working on a fifth novel, The Last Tycoon, when he died, and it was published afterward. Radio drama took up both bookends of that career, with This Side of Paradise on NBC University Theater and The Last Tycoon on Studio One.
