Anne Hummert was a leading creative force behind radio's daytime serials, the programs that came to be called soap operas. She started as a copywriter at the Blackett-Sample-Hummert agency, became a full partner, and with Frank Hummert founded the production house Air Features. She mapped out weekly plots that hired writers turned into scripts for shows like Ma Perkins, Backstage Wife, Just Plain Bill, and Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons.
