Booth Tarkington (1869-1946) was an American novelist and dramatist. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice, in 1919 and 1922, and his best-known novels, The Magnificent Ambersons and Alice Adams, earned those honors. His other books included Seventeen, Monsieur Beaucaire and The Plutocrat. Radio drama drew on his stories often, and Radio Days features The Campbell Playhouse's version of The Magnificent Ambersons along with Alice Adams on Lux Radio Theatre and The Screen Guild Theater.
