Bill Forman was the voice of the mysterious title character on The Whistler, a role he took on in the 1940s, though he reportedly did not do the famous whistling himself. He was also a familiar announcer, introducing The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, The Fitch Bandwagon, Richard Diamond, Private Detective and The Charlie McCarthy Show. In 1954 he starred in a one-season television version of The Whistler.
