Berlin-born Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992) was a German-American actress and singer who broke through in The Blue Angel, where she introduced her signature song Falling in Love Again. She made six films with director Josef von Sternberg, including Morocco, which brought her only Oscar nomination, and Shanghai Express, and later appeared in Destry Rides Again and Witness for the Prosecution. During the war she performed for Allied troops on USO tours, and in later years she toured as a cabaret and concert singer. Radio Days has her on Lux Radio Theatre, The Screen Guild Theater and wartime Command Performance broadcasts.
