Ray Milland (1907-1986) was a Welsh-born actor who became an American citizen and spent nearly twenty years under contract to Paramount, for a time as its highest-paid star. His portrayal of an alcoholic writer in Billy Wilder's The Lost Weekend won him the Academy Award for Best Actor, the first Oscar for a Welsh-born performer. He later starred with Grace Kelly in Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder and directed films of his own. Radio Days has him on shows such as Lux Radio Theatre, Cavalcade of America, Screen Directors Playhouse and Suspense.
