Rosalind Russell (1907-1976) was an American actress with a gift for fast-talking comedy. She sparred with Cary Grant as reporter Hildy Johnson in His Girl Friday, played the sharp-tongued Sylvia Fowler in The Women, and took the title role in Auntie Mame on stage and screen. Her work brought four Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, five Golden Globe wins and a Tony Award for the musical Wonderful Town. On the air she appeared on Lux Radio Theatre, The Screen Guild Theater and Screen Directors Playhouse, all of which can be found in Radio Days.
