Elliott Lewis worked in so many kinds of radio that he was nicknamed Mr. Radio, and he was involved in more than 1,200 productions. Listeners knew him as Frankie Remley on The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show and as Archie Goodwin on The Amazing Nero Wolfe, and in 1950 he took over directing Suspense. As radio faded, he moved into television, producing and directing shows such as The Lucy Show and Petticoat Junction.
